Getting a dog is not just an emotional commitment; it is also a financial one, too. But when it comes to money, not all dogs are created equal. A bit of research goes a long way in discovering which dog breed is best for your budget.
Though groups like the American Kennel Club make very specific designations about breeds and breed hybrids, there continue to be new breeds and breed variants developed all the time, as well as "up and coming breeds" not officially recognized by kennel clubs and experts. (Many dogs not purchased directly from breeders are also mixed-breeds of some kind, or have less than purebred ancestry.)
All puppies are cute no matter what breed they happen to be, but there are certain breeds that grow up to be sweet looking adult dogs too which makes it hard to resist just falling in love with them all over again. Over recent years more and more hybrid dogs have appeared on the scene and all of them are adorable looking. However, some of the older breeds have been firm favourites for decades for this reason and it includes the two breeds mentioned below, but then there’s the Pomsky which is a newer breed that’s too cute for words.
Most all dogs will get along well with children if they are raised with them. However, some breeds have a protective streak in them and may become aggressive with children who get to close at meal time (although this should not be tolerated), or aggressive with children they have never met. These breeds will likely see the children as being underneath themselves in the "pack order" and may try to dominate them.
